This program will cover hydraulics of the butterfly valve in water flow systems. It starts with basic pressure drop/head loss formulations and goes on to examine impacts of valve design, and throttling service scenarios. Sample system calculations are presented to demonstrate the concepts presented. Higher level topics such as cavitation and operator torque are also introduced.
